Peri Weinberg
Community Coordinator
Peri Weinberg is the new Community Coordinator for GesherEU. She’ll be organising a wide and evolving programme of social and cultural events, including meet-ups, residential weekends away and cultural trips, such as theatre visits.
Peri is particularly interested in developing events that encourage bonding, from group activities to social games that help people get to know each other - so members feel comfortable being themselves and can build real connections. She’s committed to making sure events feel welcoming rather than obligatory. She also places a strong importance on safeguarding, especially for children and young people attending GesherEU activities.
Alongside events, Peri plans to be in regular contact with members, encouraging engagement, following up with those who feel hesitant to attend, and listening to feedback about what people would like to see more - or less - of. She wants to make sure no one feels overlooked and that all members feel supported, included and valued.
Peri grew up in the Orthodox Jewish community in Stamford Hill and began moving away from religious life in her early teens, fully leaving as a young adult. Her experiences give her a deep understanding of the challenges people may face when navigating life outside the community. Before joining GesherEU, she worked in administrative and accounts roles. She now lives in North London.
