Our members have varied and often very complex needs. Issues we deal with include homelessness, access to children (involving stressful hearings at the Family Court), employment problems, liaison with social services, and immigration. That’s why we need volunteers with a range of backgrounds and experience.
We’re always particularly interested in hearing from people with lived experience of either the Charedi community or another high control community, but we welcome people from any religious or secular background.
We’re currently looking for volunteers with experience in any of the areas listed here (in the right-hand column) – but even if your expertise lies elsewhere, and you want to help, we’d still love to hear from you, as we might be able to find you a role.

GesherEU makes a huge difference to our members’ lives. They often come to us without the tools to survive in the modern world. So, just a small grant to help them pay their rent before their benefits come through, or until an application can be made, can mean they avoid homelessness. We know that a cup of coffee, or a sandwich, during the lunch break at a family court hearing, can do a lot to relieve anxiety. Paying for a series of counselling sessions or small group lessons to gain English and Maths skills can change their lives. Anything you can donate will help.
